Anaqor AG announces that it has sold its quantum application platform PlanQK to KIPU Quantum GmbH

Berlin – 11. July 2024 – Anaqor AG announces that it has sold its quantum application platform PlanQK to KIPU Quantum GmbH. PlanQK was developed as a lighthouse project within the framework of funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of the Federal Republic of Germany. The high-profile consortium of companies and research institutions led by Anaqor and University of Stuttgart was able to invest around 36 million euros in the PlanQK project, that saw the concurrent development of the platform with application of quantum computing to more than 30 use cases from different industries.

The well-established and industry-recognized PlanQK platform with a constantly growing quantum ecosystem of more than 100 organizations enhances accessibility to quantum computing across various sectors, serving abroad range of users from leading companies such as BASF, Deutsche Telekom, Deutsche Bahn or TRUMPF.

The new owner Kipu Quantum will significantly strengthen the quantum-specific know-how. "We chose the strategic buyer Kipu because of their unparalleled expertise in the area of quantum algorithm development, which will significantly enrich the platform’s capabilities." explains Dr. Mathias Petri, Anaqor Co-Founder and CEO, the motivation.

According to analysts at Global Quantum Intelligence,PlanQK is already one of the world's leading platforms for quantum computing. This leading position is now to be further expanded under the aegis of Kipu Quantum.

Kipu Quantum's CEO, Dr. Daniel Volz, stated, “Making our world-leading algorithm services accessible through the PlanQK platform will make our capabilities available to a much wider audience".
