Anaqor is nominated for the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award 2023

Although quantum computers are still in the early stages of development, it is already clear that they could be used in many industries: including optimization tasks, quantum-based machine learning, and molecular interaction simulations. Due to the high cost of hardware access, only large corporations can currently afford to delve into this technology and conduct testing to attain an understanding of its capabilities.

With the PlanQK platform, Anaqor intends to democratize the technology and make it accessible to the majority of companies and SMEs. "We are very excited to be nominated for the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award. PlanQK provides a platform that enables the development of applications, while ensuring hardware access, hosting, scaling of the implementations of any number of users simultaneously, and easy billing. Quantum Services, our platform, closes a vital gap in the quantum value chain," states David Niehaus, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Anaqor.

PlanQK was launched in 2020 as a German lighthouse project funded by the government with leading universities and companies and is being continuously improved. The platform supports developers by making their quantum code available as easy-to-integrate software via standardized interfaces. "We believe that PlanQK can be a source not only of new economic growth, but also of visionary approaches to solving global climate and societal problems and challenges by creating a community for quantum developers to further develop their expertise and focus on relevant areas," said Niehaus.

The jury for the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award, led by Prof.Oliver Günther, Ph. D., President of the University of Potsdam, has chosen the top ten innovations from 111 entries in the competition. These nominees come from the capital region. The winners will be announced at the award ceremony on November 24,2023.

About the Innovation Award:

The Innovation Award is an annual recognition of innovative and outstanding entrepreneurial work by the two states of Berlin and Brandenburg. Private partners from various institutions and business enterprises are also involved, making it a prestigious honor for the economy. The award was first introduced in 1984 and has been jointly organized with Brandenburg since 1992. To date, over 175 prize winners have been acknowledged from over 4,450 applications.
